Journal Record Article On Guin's 2007 Census Numbers

Wednesday's Journal Record has an article outlining the Mayor's efforts to challenge Guin's 2007 census figures and why those numbers are so important. You can find the online version at http://www.myjrpaper.com.

Please remember the Journal Record has no archive feature and the current newspaper will be replaced when the next edition is published.

I hope all of the municipalities in the area get on board with this challenge! Bobby, can't census numbers affect government grants and aid as well?

Chad,

Absolutely. Population numbers can have an effect on potential grant money. The biggest side effect, though, of a perceived reduction in population is the ability to recruit industry or retail. Retail especially looks at population numbers and desires to see a growth before committing to an area.
